Your property & electricity

Use a 12-month average where possible. Enter rates in whole currency units, not cents. The bill method assumes a flat tariff; use kWh for time-of-use or demand-based bills.

Your planning assumptions

The starting values (1,400 yield, 80% energy target, 50% self-use) are illustrative, not verified for your property. Yield should already include orientation, shading and system losses. Location does not automatically change it. Battery interest does not increase estimated savings.

How this estimate works & what it leaves out

Annual use = monthly use × 12 (or monthly usage-only bill ÷ import rate × 12). System size = annual use × energy target ÷ annual yield. Solar used on site = annual generation × self-use share, capped at annual use. Bill reduction = solar used on site × import rate. Export credit = surplus × export rate.

This simple annual model is not a roof survey, weather simulation, battery design or financial quotation. It excludes installation costs, financing, incentives, maintenance, degradation, fixed and demand charges. A site assessment and tariff review are required, especially for businesses and farms.
